DURACUT  DUAL / TRI PURPOSE DATAFILES

  METALWORKING OILS

DURACUT DUAL / TRI PURPOSE OILS are a line of multi-purpose cutting fluids of the non-staining type.  They are specifically designed for use in the machining of non-ferrous metals where the use of  "active sulfur' containing cutting oils result in the staining of machined copper parts.

DURACUT DUAL PURPOSE OILS are designed for use as both a cutting oil and a machine tool lubricant  These oils incorporate sulfurized fats and chlorine additives that are effective in reducing friction on the part / tool interface while remaining inactive (non-corrosive) in the machine tool lubrication system under conditions normally encountered.

The non-corrosive feature of these oils makes them well suited for the machining of copper and its alloys as well as a variety of operations on ferrous metals where machinability requirements range from mild to moderately severe.  DURACUT DUAL PURPOSE OILS also contain additives to control misting.

The use of DURACUT DUAL PURPOSE OILS in multi-spindle automatic screw machines, as both cutting oil and lube oils, is most effective where dilution of the cutting fluid by the oil from a leaking lube oil system is encountered.

These dual purpose oils are not intended for use in hydraulic systems with pumps and pressures and speeds requiring the use of an ant-wear type hydraulic oil.

DURACUT TRI-PURPOSE OILS
are transparent, bright colored oils that are rust and oxidation inhibited and are non-corrosive to copper.  In automatic machine tools, the mixing of cutting oils (particularly those that contain "active" sulfur and fatty oils)  with lubricating and hydraulic oils can have serious consequences.  These problems can be avoided in many applications by using DURACUT TRI-PURPOSE OILS as they be used as cutting oil, machine tool lubricant, and as hydraulic oil.  These are true multi-purpose oils designed for all three lubricant applications.

DURACUT DUAL and TRI-PURPOSE OILS are similar in strength of EP levels in that the tri-purpose oils are suited for the machining of ferrous and non ferrous alloys of light to moderate machining requirements.  These oils also contain additives to resist oxidation as well as to suppress misting.
